Al's sick

Well, Al does have a summer flu. They tested him at the doctor's office--he had the flu and an annual check-up, so we had to go--and confirmed it. Basically, he needs to rest, drink lots of fluids, and take some cold medicine. I just hope I don't get it because I'm the one taking care of him.

At least exams are over and we don't have to worry about that anymore. But he probably ran himself down studying. I did too, but hopefully we'll have all A's on our exams and it will be worth it.

Al and I have been really busy studying for final exams and I've got college exams like the SAT to take. Thankfully, finals started this week, but we've been so busy we haven't had time for ourselves in three weeks. It's enough that I remember to attempt dinner every night and to shower.

um... wow?

Well... *clears throat* Exactly what the fuck happened?!

And not just on that end, but shouldn't the school nurse be giving out sex ed or I dunno, CONDOMS or something. They are a novel device which help prevent things like... oh yeah, pregnancy.

But of course, older brothers are full of shit and know nothing about life, so why listen to one?

*rolls eyes*

So Russell might be going crazy, I mean, I'm still here. I've just been preoccupied with some things.

Mod: Sorry, it's been busy with me graduating and AP exams. I'm gonna talk with Erin and hopefully plan another party and maybe a prom.

kittens

So I found Al's cat while doing laundry in the basement. She's had her kittens, one orange tabby and a black and white. I already called dibs on the orange tabby, since it's a boy. I guess Al gets the black and white one. We still haven't thought of names, Al's too busy being mesmerized by the kittens to think of any yet. I haven't really thought of a name for my cat either... they are really cute. And they're still so young they can't see or hear yet!

Which, we're keeping both kittens because Hazel had such a small litter and I can't, in good conscience, look at Al and tell him he can only keep one kitten and that we're gonna split up the siblings. Nope. I CAN tell him that we're getting them spayed and neutered as soon as they're old enough. Number one, I don't want more kittens. Number two, I don't want kittens with birth defects because there was inbreeding. We'll get all three of them done at once, even though it's gonna be a huge bill.

Oi. All this drama is giving me a headache. It's like, marry me this, do me that, let's make up and it's all better.

Ugh. I hate drama. Especially high school drama. It's all romantic-y.

And I'm kinda worried about Al's cat. She's due and I haven't seen her for a few days.

wtf?

*makes fake retching noises*

So it's spring and apparently everyone has caught an extra does of fluffy-kill-you-with-the-cheesiness-love-syndrome.

I mean, we've got what? Marriage proposals after just a few months? And all these hormonal teenagers with a propensity to, well, let their hormones get the better of them.

No thank you.

I'll take an allergy pill so I don't catch that particular hay fever.

And actually... *thinks* Al's cat might be due to have her kittens any day now. I have no idea how far along she is. Maybe I should call the vet...

FInally got over the flu. That was a week of hell.

And now Fletcher thinks Winry's is mad at him or something? I dunno. Winry and I had it out a few days ago, but I thought it was resolved. And I didn't think it would be that big of a problem either. Of course, I expected it to be a bigger argument. So I dunno. *shrugs* That's for them to work out.

sick

Well I've got the fucking flu. So go ahead and say, "I told you so," but everyone else got the shot and they got the damn flu too, so don't give me any shit about it.

I'm in a hell of a bad mood, my automail weighs a ton, my fever is high, and all around I feel gross from staying in bed all day. Al is staying home from school to help, which makes me feel a little better, but after a few more days, he'll need to go to school so he doesn't get behind.

And even though I'm sick, I don't want any visitors. I don't want anyone getting the flu and I don't really want to see any of you guys.

So my birthday didn't suck as much as I thought it might. Al made it a lot better; he got me a really thoughtful gift.

And I think my allergies are coming back. I'm NOT sick. Nope, not sick at all. Just the damn pollen in the air from the few flowers that stupidly are braving the cold weather to bloom are making me sneeze. I'm just all stopped up and my throat feels horrible.

Oh! And I thought Heiderich was at the library a lot last week, but it turns out he's just gone. He left a note that said he had to go back to Germany. It was really abrupt, but I guess his mom wanted him back home or something.

The dance went alright. Not sure I'd want to go to another one. Valentine's Day is so disgustingly mushy and heterosexual it's gross. Not that I really care or want some homoerotic V-Day, but I never really realized how straight of a holiday it was until I looked at it closely today. And people seem to lose all shame too, around V-Day.

What a day to have my birthday on. You'd think Mom could've waited or had me early, but I get stuck on the mushy love holiday. And it's not like I was dying to be 17 anyway. *sighs*

Valentine's Day sucks.

Had a much better weekend, having spent time with Al and talked with Winry. And I'm perfectly healthy. Not sick, not gonna get sick. *nods*

Winry, don't forget you're coming over for dinner Tuesday.

So, this week was a hell of a roller coaster. And the weekend sucked.

And I'm not getting a flu shot. I don't get sick.

stuffs

Al and I went to Central last weekend and got a few things, like a very very late Christmas present for Winry, some stuff for us, and Al got new pants because he's grown out of his old ones. And I've heard there might be a Valentine's Day dance, so I got him new dress pants just in case. 'cause he already said he wants to go. Al likes parties more than I do *shrug*

School is still boringly easy. *sighs* I wish it was more of a challenge. Even English isn't that hard.

Anyway, no idea what Al and I are doing this weekend. He might just want to stay home and read or watch a movie. It's too cold to go out anyway. Not just snow, ice. *shivers* I'm freezing right now, although my automail feels better now.

And yeah, Winry, we'll call but you should come over for dinner one night and we'll give you your very late gift.

update

That new nurse is a thief, just a petty thief! If she pretends to be all sympathetic and motherly and says something about "saving a school that's about to be demolished" or other building/institution, don't believe her! She will get your sympathy and money and you will be robbed!

*clears throat* So we have this new girl, Sheska. She's a bookworm, but that can come in handy. She really helped Al and I out in central about a year ago, so I'm glad she's still with her books. Russell seems to think she's taken, but she's way too innocent. She's single, Russell. If not, then she's good at hiding her suitors.

And Brosh...... he's had one too many coffee and donut, although I'm wondering if he's spiked them. The guy is a little crazy, but likable. more so than the other teachers here.

And turns out all the admins were just whispering about having a dance. No 'other' new teacher coming.

Well, we've gotten a school police officer and some new student who's a book nerd. Her name is Sheska, and I do remember her from something in the military, although.... now that I think about it, I think she helped me find a book. But this guy, I don't remember him. Although I try not to remember the military. *shrugs*

From the way the staff and principal have been whispering, it sounds like we're gonna get a new teacher. But... who? I mean, we've got all these positions to fill, I just don't know who and why everyone would be whispering. Oh well.

Al and I took a trip to Central to get some things and go have dinner. It was a nice day trip in on the train, since the weather was so cold and I didn't feel like driving in in this weather.

Christmas

Al gave me a necklace. It looks like it's silver, and it's the shape of our flammel. I really wasn't expecting anything (although I was getting him something anyway), but it's a really nice gift.

Incidentally, I also got him a necklace (and I've had this gift planned for months, well, I had another gift too but that one got moved up a few months so I went with this one for Christmas) but it's not really artistically done like the one he gave me is. It's just a little scrap of metal that looks cool. Okay, so the scrap is significant to Al, but he really liked it and it looks good on him.

Now I just need to find out what Al wants to do for New Year. I just wanna stay home on NY Eve and maybe watch TV, but maybe they'll be a party. I thought the school was supposed to have a lot. Not like I'm really a party type. Whatever.

Had a nice time ice skating with Al last week and am looking forward to an even nicer Christmas. I think Al and I are gonna open our gifts Christmas Eve and do the ones with Winry when she comes over for Christmas lunch.

And Al got us both a camera, incidentally, when I was planning to get him the exact same thing. Same model too. I guess great minds really do think alike.

holiday update

So........

Exams coming up. I should probably study for those, and help Al study too. But I think this weekend I want to attempt baking again and take Al out ice skating on the river (you let me test the ice Al, I don't want a soaking wet brother to catch hypothermia if the ice caves in). And I'm only saying that because I really don't want you sick. I'm not trying to encroach or infantile you.

Hopefully I'll be able to help Al make cookies without them burning and that he'll enjoy ice skating.

And then I need to go Christmas shopping.
